Positivity of Continuous-Time Descriptor Systems With Time Delays

    Get PDF
This technical note is concerned with positivity characteristic of continuous-time descriptor systems with time delays. First, a set of necessary and sufficient conditions is presented to check the property. Then, considering a descriptor time-delay system with two assumptions, a new time-delay system is established whose positivity is equivalent to that of the original system. Furthermore, a set of necessary and sufficient conditions is provided to check the positivity of the new system. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the validity of the results obtained

Towards a spin foam model description of black hole entropy

We propose a way to describe the origin of black hole entropy in the spin foam models of quantum gravity. This stimulates a new way to study the relation of spin foam models and loop quantum gravity.Comment: 5 pages, 1 figur

Note on the Regularity of Nonadditive Measures

We consider the regularity for nonadditive measures. We prove that the non-additive measures which satisfy Egoroff's theorem and have pseudometric generating property possess Radon property (strong regularity) on a complete or a locally compact, separable metric space

A Technique for Measurement of Cattle Form Using a Trail 3D Digital Camera

    Get PDF
Measurement of weight and form are important for the management of grazing cattle; however, form measurement is seldom carried out. Recently, use of 3D digital cameras has been increasing, and 3D-technology for reconstruction of 3D pictures has been developed. The measurement of withers and hip height of cattle from 3D pictures using the image-analysis technique has been reported (Kida et al. 2012). However, time and effort are required to obtain 3D images of grazing cattle in pastures. Here, we examined an automatic photographic technique using a sensor camera

This Biodiversity is added to the National Curriculum Standard as a basic concept. Biodiversity (diversity within species, between species and of ecosystems) is taken up by the "Integrated Science B" texbooks, which are established in 2003 for high school students. The purpose of this study is to examine how this biodiversity is treated in both National Curriculum Standard and textbooks. Regarding textbooks, various examples of boidiversity are dealt with in experiments, observations, and researches. Living things mentioned here are unbalanced in classification, as in the case with textbook of compulsory education. Diversity within species and of ecosystems are not adequately provided. As a result of these facts, the way biodiversity is treated are various, and still in transition
